Historical Folk Costume Fabric Reconstruction – Apron Textile Design

Custom historical textile recreation for Swedish folk costume, developed from original source material.

I was commissioned by Trosa Hembygdsmuseum to recreate a textile for their traditional folk costume. The project focuses on reconstructing the apron fabric as part of a larger effort to revive the historical Trosa costume.

The design was developed from a small surviving fragment, carefully analysed and translated into a complete, usable textile while preserving the original character, scale, and visual rhythm.
