Collection: 19th century Nordic folk costumes
The Nordic national costumes have their roots in the festive costumes worn by the common folk during the 18th and 19th centuries. These costumes are managed and kept alive and today both professionals and hobbyists make and wear these costumes
These costumes vary greatly depending on the region.
In this category, I have recreated designs I have found in different Nordic museums and have been worn mostly under19 th century. These are not categorised as Nordic national costumes but could be mixed with them as an apron or just for fun.
