1825–1830s Floral Wave Cotton Print – Fortin, Paris

Originally featured in Book of Samples by Fortin, Paris (published 1825). This striking cotton print displays undulating wave stripes in black and white, accented with vertical garlands of golden-yellow blossoms and olive-green details. A dynamic yet balanced pattern typical of early Romantic-era textiles.

Perfect for sewing 1820s–1830s gowns, accessories, or historical interiors. Printed on fine cotton for authentic period projects or timeless modern use.

Marie Taglioni, born in 1804, was a celebrated ballerina in the Romantic era. Her father, a choreographer, and her mother, a ballet dancer, played a crucial role in her early exposure to dance. She trained rigorously and made her debut in Vienna in 1822, eventually rising to fame for her delicate movements and ethereal stage presence. After retiring in 1847, she continued to contribute to the ballet world until her death in 1884. Overall, Taglioni's pioneering use of pointe work and graceful performances left a lasting impact on classical dance.
