Important Update – EU Consumer Rights & Returns (2026)
From 19 June 2026, new EU consumer protection rules require online stores to provide clearer information and easier processes for withdrawal and return requests.
At SummerSunStories, I have reviewed and updated the Return Policy, customer communication, and return request process to make the information clearer and easier to understand.
What this means for SummerSunStories customers
SummerSunStories offers historically inspired textiles, including both standard assortment fabrics and customer-specific made-to-order products.
Many fabrics are printed, sourced, scaled, prepared, or produced specifically for an individual customer project. Because of this, return and withdrawal rights may differ depending on the nature of the order.
Standard assortment products
If a product is purchased from the regular assortment without individual customisation beyond the standard options offered in the webshop, consumer withdrawal rights may apply where required by law.
If you wish to request a return or withdrawal for such an item, please contact SummerSunStories within fourteen (14) days of receiving your order.
Made-to-order and customer-specific products
Some products are made, printed, sourced, adjusted, scaled, cut, or prepared specifically for an individual customer order or project.
For such customer-specific goods, certain statutory withdrawal rights may not apply under applicable consumer legislation. This may include goods made to the consumer's specifications or goods that are clearly personalised.
This means that once production, preparation, printing, sourcing, or cutting has begun, a customer-specific order will normally be considered binding and non-returnable.
If something is wrong with your order
This does not affect your rights if an item is defective, damaged in transit, or if the wrong item has been received.
Please inspect your order when it arrives and contact SummerSunStories without delay if there is a problem. Such cases are handled separately from ordinary return or withdrawal requests.

SummerSunStories aims to be fair, practical, and solution-oriented.
If you are unsure about your order, or if something has not turned out as expected, you are welcome to contact me. Each case can be reviewed individually, depending on the product, the order, and the circumstances.
