William Kilburn Floral Print, c. 1790

This design is recreated in honour of William Kilburn (1745–1818) — the visionary who transformed textile design into an art form. His delicate florals and graceful compositions inspired generations, and his fight for originality led to Britain’s first copyright law protecting printed fabrics.

With its soft sprays of wisteria and wildflowers, this print captures the refined beauty Kilburn celebrated. Reimagined from his surviving work, it pays tribute to a great designer who believed creativity deserved both admiration and respect.

Christina Charlotta Cederström, born Mörner af Morlanda on 2 March 1760 in Gåvetorp, was a Swedish artist. In 1803 she became an honorary member of both the Swedish and French art academies. She exhibited oil paintings in genre and folk life at the academy. She acted as a contact channel and hostess for the academy and held a salon.
