This charming red and yellow floral print is inspired by an early 19th-century short gown, once a staple in everyday Regency wardrobes. The small stylized flowers bring warmth and character, making it perfect for open gowns, jackets, or spencers.

Reimagined here on smooth cotton satin, the pattern captures the cheerful simplicity of the period — both practical and delightful. You’ll need around four meters for a full Regency open dress.

Frances Anne Emily Marchioness of Londonderry was a wealthy Anglo-Irish heiress and noblewoman, born on January 17, 1800, and passed away on January 20, 1865. She was the daughter of Sir Henry Vane-Tempest, 2nd Baronet, and Anne MacDonnell, 2nd Countess of Antrim. Frances Anne married Charles William Stewart, who later became the 3rd Marquess of Londonderry in 1822. She inherited extensive lands in northeast England and County Antrim, Ireland from her father and had income from coal mining operations in the Durham Coalfield. Frances Anne was known for her opulence, close relationship with Tsar Alexander I of Russia, and efforts to improve the lives of her tenants and employees by providing schools for their children.
