What are Medium weight Fabrics
Definition of Medium Weight Fabrics:
I have defined in my Shop Medium weight fabrics to be between 130 and 210 gsm.
Examples of Medium Weight Fabrics:
- Twill: A durable fabric with a diagonal weave pattern, commonly used in trousers and jackets.
- Jersey: A knit fabric known for its stretchability and softness, often used in t-shirts and dresses.
- Linen: A breathable fabric made from flax fibers, suitable for summer clothing due to its lightweight yet structured nature.
- Poplin: A tightly woven cotton fabric that is smooth and crisp, often used in shirts and blouses.
- Satin: A glossy fabric that can be made from silk or synthetic fibers, commonly used for evening wear.
Applications of Medium Weight Fabrics: Due to their balanced characteristics, medium weight fabrics are ideal for:
- Everyday clothing like blouses, skirts, and lightweight jackets.
- Formal attire such as dresses or suits where a bit more structure is desired without sacrificing comfort.
- Home textiles like curtains or cushion covers that require durability but also need to maintain an aesthetic appeal.
