Return Policy
SummerSunStories offers historically inspired textiles, including both standard assortment items and customer-specific made-to-order products.
Because many orders are printed, prepared, scaled, sourced, or cut specifically for the customer, the return conditions differ depending on the nature of the order.
1. Customer-specific and made-to-order products
Products that are made according to the customer's specific instructions, measurements, requested modifications, project-based adjustments, or other individual requirements are treated as custom-made goods.
This also applies to items that are specially sourced, produced outside the regular assortment, adjusted in scale or design for a particular project, or otherwise given a clear personal character for the customer.
For such customer-specific goods, the right of withdrawal and general return right does not apply.
This means that once production, preparation, or cutting has been started for a customer-specific order, the order is normally binding and non-returnable.
2. Standard assortment items
If an item has been purchased from the regular assortment without individual customisation beyond the standard options presented in the webshop, mandatory consumer legislation may give the customer the right to withdraw from the purchase within fourteen (14) days from the day after receiving the goods.
If you wish to exercise such a right, SummerSunStories must be informed in writing within fourteen (14) days of receipt of the item.

Where applicable by law, the customer must return the item after notifying SummerSunStories.
3. Conditions for any approved return
No return should be sent without prior written contact and approval.
If a return is accepted or if a statutory withdrawal right applies, the following conditions apply:
- the item must be returned in its original condition, with no more handling than necessary to inspect it
- the customer is responsible for the return shipping cost, where this applies under law
- the parcel must be packed securely
- proof of purchase must be included or available
Items sent back without prior contact will not be accepted.
4. Goodwill review within 14 days
Even where no legal right of withdrawal applies, SummerSunStories aims to be fair and solution-oriented.
If you are dissatisfied with your order, you are welcome to contact SummerSunStories within fourteen (14) days of receiving the item. The matter can then be reviewed and discussed on a case-by-case basis.
Any goodwill return, partial refund, replacement, store credit, or other solution is entirely at the discretion of SummerSunStories and depends on the circumstances of the individual case.
5. Damaged, defective, or incorrect items
Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact SummerSunStories without delay if the item is defective, damaged in transit, or if the wrong item has been received.
Such cases will be assessed as complaints regarding defects or delivery errors and handled separately from ordinary returns.
6. Historical suitability and customer responsibility
SummerSunStories produces historically inspired textile designs from different periods. The customer is responsible for ensuring that the selected design, scale, colourway, and fabric quality are suitable for the intended project, garment, or interior use.
Returns or refunds are not granted on the basis that a design was later considered unsuitable for a particular historical interpretation, reconstruction, or styling purpose.
7. Non-returnable items
The following items are generally non-returnable:
- custom-made or personalised goods
- cut fabric prepared specifically for an order
- special-order goods outside the regular assortment
- goods produced or modified for a particular customer project
- sale items, gift cards, and any item where return is excluded by law or clearly stated before purchase
8. Refunds
If a refund is approved, it will be processed using the original payment method unless otherwise agreed.
Refunds are made after the returned item has been received and assessed, where a return is relevant.
Please note that payment providers and banks may require additional processing time before the refund is visible to the customer.
