Historical Fabric Recreation for heritage use

Custom historical fabric recreations developed for heritage use, based on documented Swedish textile traditions.

I recreated several textile designs on commission from Erik Thorell, representing Tunabygdens Hembygdsförening . The work focused on translating historical references into functional fabrics suitable for use within a cultural heritage environment.

About Tunabygdens Hembygdsförening

Tunabygdens Hembygdsförening is dedicated to preserving and sharing the cultural heritage of the Tunabygden region in Sweden. At the centre of its work is Tunabygdens Gammelgård, an open-air museum located along the Dalälven river.

The site includes around 35 preserved historical buildings, offering insight into traditional Swedish rural life, craftsmanship, and architecture across several centuries.

Today, the association continues to keep these traditions alive through events, exhibitions, and educational activities, creating a living connection between past and present.

Visitors can experience seasonal celebrations, guided tours, and community events that reflect Sweden’s cultural heritage in an authentic setting.
