1750 Catharine Macaulay - Choco rose

Inspiration to this historical fabric design  I have found from a a mid 18th Century Printed English design for a textile by an unknown maker, showing a pattern of trailing flowers and foliage.


Catharine Macaulay was the first Englishwoman to become an historian and during her lifetime the world's only female historian.
Between 1763 and 1783 Macaulay wrote, in eight volumes, The History of England from the Accession of James I to that of the Brunswick Line.
Being practically unknown before the publication of the first volume, overnight she became "the Celebrated Mrs. Macaulay".
