Inspiration to this historical fabric design I have found from Museum Collections
The original is a Colour textile design print from woodblocks with additional colour by hand, showing a pattern of trailing flowers with a butterfly and a bell-shaped motif.

Eva Merthen, called the Duchess of Finland, born September 8, 1723, died October 15, 1811 in Stralsund, was a Finnish celebrity. She is known for her relationship with the notorious General James Keith.

Wonderful fabric - a print true to period (hard to find!) and material pleasant to work with. I needed it for a dress for a museum Biedermeier project, so historical accuracy was key. The shop Owner answered all my questions quickly, competently and with great dedication. The print arrived well in time. Will definitely order from them again!
