Rococo Floral Garland Print
Product Description
This reconstructed textile design is based on an 18th-century pattern print, suitable for historically accurate dressmaking and interior use. The flowing rococo garland repeat supports both structured garments and softer decorative applications, maintaining visual continuity across larger surfaces.
The design features delicate floral branches with scrolling movement, combining red blossoms with blue accents and green foliage. The composition reflects printed and hand-coloured textile samples, capturing the balance and rhythm typical of mid-18th century decorative design.
Well suited for
Robe Battante, Banyan, Aprons, and Anglaise. The design is also well suited for curtains and table linens, where a continuous flowing repeat enhances both garment construction and interior textile applications.
Design & Historical Context
This design is based on a pattern print from Anders Berch’s textile sample collection, preserved at the Nordiska museet. The original paper sheet, dated between 1730 and 1749, shows a rococo garland motif printed and hand-coloured in multiple tones. These samples were used in teaching materials to illustrate textile production and decorative styles.

Charlotte Slottsberg Charlotte Slottsberg (1760–1800) was Sweden’s first native professional ballerina and a leading figure of the Royal Swedish Ballet during the Gustavian era. Trained under Louis Gallodier, she became known for her stage presence, technical skill, and prominent roles. Her close relationship with Prince Charles (later King Charles XIII) brought both attention and controversy, but she remains a significant figure in Sweden’s cultural history and the early development of ballet. |
